Change yea right.
Citizenship in a DemocracyCitizenship in a Democracy is not a passive activity, as my Blog suggests you must be involved. Many political leaders will suggest they have your best interests in mind and as we have seen in recent developments, “the Change you can believe in”. Question, where is the change, a political insider known for heavy dealings in “ear marking” is chosen as the VP. The new President selects one of the people he designated as a Political Insider as the Secretary of State. Then we have the promise to clean up ethics issues, what did we get? Three appointments whom all failed to Pay their Taxes, now is that change? We must not forget the one who dropped out because of a State Ethics Inquiry. Seems like business as usual. This is why we must become and remain engaged; this is very true if you have Conservative and Christian values. Many groups lobby all the time to reduce these values to nothing. If you do nothing you will see, this country come apart.

To My Congressional Representative
As the debate continues in Washington about Illegal Aliens and how it is just a victim less crime I would like to inform, you of some recent events right here in your home state. This story is a headline in Pender County.
“Two illegal immigrants pled guilty to unrelated sex offenses in a Pender County courtroom Wednesday. Octavio Rojas pled guilty in two counts of taking indecent liberities with a minor after confirming that he sexually assaulted a thirteen year old girl. Isidro Gazca will also be spending the next twelve to fifteen years in prison after admitting that he sexually abused three girls between the ages of seven and fourteen.”
The ironic part is the parents of these children have most likely been supporting the Illegal immigrants with their tax dollars and now they will have to continue to support these criminals with their tax dollars. In other words, the very people who have had their lives destroyed will now be asked to ensure the proper care of the people who destroyed their lives.
If the Illegal Aliens do serve out their sentences, the children who were destroyed will end up working and paying money into the tax system to care for the very people who sexually assaulted them. These children have had their lives destroyed yet our Government continues to debate Illegal immigration. People who have entered the country illegally have already broken the Laws of the United States, what makes you think they will have a drastic and sudden change and start abiding by the Law. Once in the country some commit acts like this and we the taxpayers now have to pay for their extended stay here in the US.
So once again who said Illegal immigration is a crime that has no victims. WE are tired of the ENDLESS DEBATE and WE want the boarders of this country CLOSED. When this issue crosses you desk please think about the children in Pender County.

This letter is a recent return from one of my Elected Representatives, the subject is Illegal immigration. I do not support any form of amnesty or guest worker program. I believe if you are here illegally then you are a criminal, you have violated the law in entering this country. Any person found to be in this country illegally should be deported immediately. Anyone whom supports or harbors illegals is in fact a criminal as well since they are helping the individual to commit this crime. Do not confuse this with s stance against immigration, people whom wish to enter this country should feel free to do so, within the confines of the law.

Thank you for contacting me about your concerns on immigration and border security. As a member of the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus, I appreciate hearing from you on this important issue and share your concerns.
I strongly support efforts to stop illegal immigration, improve our border control, and discourage illegal immigration in the United States. The U.S. Census Bureau estimates that there are over 10 million illegal aliens within our borders, and 6.7 million of them have arrived in the last 10 years. Our current immigration system cannot handle the ever-growing demands placed upon it. Illegal immigrants drain resources and opportunities from legal citizens.
I recently introduced the Scott Gardner Act, H.R. 1199, along with my colleague, Representative Sue Myrick, which would ensure that illegal immigrants convicted of DUI are immediately deported. This bill closes a dangerous loophole in our law which allows criminals to continue driving on our streets and threatening our citizens by driving under the influence. These individuals should not be in our country in the first place, and this bill would make sure that those who commit such a serious offense would be immediately deported. I am pleased to tell you that this bill has garnered bipartisan support and currently has 8 cosponsors.
I have also co-sponsored H.R. 997, the English Language Unity Act. This bill would declare English the official language of the United States. A common language has enabled generations of Americans to realize the dream of American opportunity and freedom. Studies continue to prove those who know English get better jobs, earn more money and receive better health care than those who cannot speak the language. As a result, an emphasis on English decreases reliance on the federal government.
In addition, I was an original cosponsor during the 110th Congress of the Secure America with Verification and Enforcement Act, introduced by Rep. Heath Shuler. The SAVE Act is a 3-point plan to drastically reduce illegal immigration. Specifically, the bill addresses border security by increasing manpower, technology, and infrastructure needs on our northern and southern borders. The bill also protects American workers, legal foreign workers, and law-abiding businesses from the unfair competition created by a massive illegal workforce. Finally, the SAVE Act provides the tools, resources, and infrastructure necessary to enforce existing immigration laws and penalize offenders. Please be assured that I will cosponsor this legislation again when it is reintroduced in the 111th Congress.
Furthermore, I have been an outspoken supporter of the E-Verify System. During debate on the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act, I strongly supported efforts to mandate the use of the E-Verify System for all contracts awarded using stimulus dollars. E-Verify requires employers to clear applicants through a national database for employment eligibility and uses information from many federal agencies including the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration. This provision was not included in the final draft of the stimulus bill, despite my strong support. I have also cosponsored H.R. 997, the English Language Unity Act of 2009. This bill would make English the official language of the United States. Studies have shown that individuals with a good knowledge of English receive better healthcare, get better jobs, and earn more than those who cannot speak it.
I am also pleased that an Immigration Court has now been constructed in Charlotte so that we can act more quickly regarding immigration matters and not have to wait for a court in Atlanta to act. Officials estimate North Carolina has the nation's eighth-largest population of illegal immigrants, ranging between 300,000 and 600,000. Of the 10 states with the highest population of illegals, North Carolina is the only one without an immigration court. The court heard its first case in November of 2008.

I have decided to post here on this blog to discover / talk about the United States and where we are heading. I am not affiliated with any political party since both have their problems. I do have some very strong underlying principals, as I am sure many of you have.
If you live in this Democracy you must get involved or it will go away never to return, you must get involved. Your very freedom is at stake. However, if you feel the Government should provide for you I encourage you to move elsewhere, and do not bother to read this blog.
